Benefits of Cloud

Cloud-based computing has been around for decades. Probably a lot longer than you might expect. But research shows that only 69% of businesses are currently using cloud-based computing.

Even at home, many of us are still saving our files to hard drives and backing up to external systems. Companies that aren’t using cloud systems often cite cost or security as primary concern, and others just prefer to stick with what they know.

The reality, however, is most of their concerns are actually benefits of cloud usage, and most people, once everything is set up, don’t have to change their day to day working processes at all.

If you are gearing up to make the move, or need a little more convincing, here are five of the biggest benefits to being in the cloud.

You’re Always Ready for a Global Pandemic

Those businesses that were already utilizing cloud services had a significantly easier time when it came to shutting up shop and finding ways for their employees to work from home in March.

Files were already accessible online, and team members were able to switch to remote working with ease. The last year has proven that we never know what might happen in the future, and cloud systems can ensure you are prepared for anything.

Cost

You might be worried about the costs of switching to the cloud and moving everything over. You may also have concerns about the ongoing costs.

But most businesses find that working in the cloud is significantly cheaper. It might even mean that you can downsize and cut office costs, or even make a permanent move to remote working, losing the office entirely.

Flexibility

One of the biggest benefits of working in the cloud is that you are flexible. You can sync your mail between devices with help from https://setapp.com/how-to/set-up-icloud-mail-on-your-mac.

You can work on documents from your home computer, your tablet while you are commuting and even your mobile. You can work from your desk, the coffee shop, or even your bed. You can even check-in while you are out of the country.

When your work is in the cloud, you allow yourself and your staff far greater flexibility and control, which in turn can increase productivity.

Collaboration Opportunities

Having everything in the cloud makes sharing much easier. This can open the door to easy collaborations, which can have many benefits to your business.

Sustainability

Sustainability is something that we are all focusing on far more. A sustainable business can save money and build a positive reputation, while also doing their bit for the planet.

Saving to the cloud is a big step towards a greener business. It cuts printing, saves paper, reduces energy costs and even limits the need for the production of expensive hard drives and equipment. If you are looking to reduce your company’s carbon footprint, moving into the cloud is a great start.

Perhaps the biggest reason to move to the cloud is that everyone is doing it. It’s the future, and there’s no getting away from it.

So, why not start looking into cloud-based computing a little more?
