8 Signs Your Business is Stuck In the Past And What To Do About It

Is your business stuck in the past?

The fact you’re even reading this article signifies that it might be.

If you’ve got doubts that your business is as modern as possible and you want to bring it up to scratch and get better results than ever before, read on.

You’ll find 8 signs your business is stuck and what you can do about it.

1. You Have An Outdated Website

If your site looks outdated or is difficult to use, you’re likely losing people right from the get go. All it takes is a couple of seconds for visitors to see your website and make their minds up about it. They need to think that it looks the part and be able to use it easily on top of that.

A great web design company can help you to design something that will last a while, but remember that the business landscape is always changing and you need to stay ahead of the curve.

2. You Haven’t Updated/Integrated Your Tech

Your tech should work holistically and be fully integrated. This way, it’s easier for your team to communicate with one another and with their clients.

Make sure your internet is as fast as possible first, and then work on making sure it’s integrated. Looking into options like https://www.intellectsoft.net/blog/what-is-onshore-software-development/ might be a good idea for those who aren’t the most tech savvy at present.

3. You Don’t Have A Mobile Site

If you’re going to take advantage of mobile visitors and traffic, you need a mobile site that will stay connected 24/7 and ensure you’re not missing out on any custom.

If you don’t have a mobile site you’ll be making your audience’s lives difficult.

4. The Phone Is Your Main Form Of Communication

People don’t like talking on the phone as they once did anymore.

Of course, if it’s an important topic or something long winded/complex then you may make a phone call, but email is usually enough.

This definitely shouldn’t be your main form of communication, and cold calling is a definite no-no.

5. You’re Only Accepting A Couple Of Payment Methods

There are all kinds of payment methods that your business can accept – if you only accept cash, you’re behind.

Even if you accept a debit/credit card online, there are other forms of payment you should be accepting. For instance; Paypal, Apple Pay, and even pay later companies are a good way to get people to buy from you.

Accepting more forms of payment may be a little more expensive for you, but it’ll be worth it when you make more sales.

6. Your Website Isn’t Getting The Results You Want

Your website should be attracting your target audience and helping you to make sales.

It’s expensive to build and can be tough to upkeep, which is why it’s so important that it’s actually working for you. You need to know how to look at your analytics so you can determine what you’re doing well and what needs to change.

Working with a reputable marketing company that is rooted firmly in the present day could help. If you try to do this yourself you will likely get sub-par results as your efforts will be watered down.

7. You’re Not On Social Media

Unfortunately, you’re probably not going to be able to build much of a reputation or provide incredible customer service without social media.

Social media allows you to keep customers in the loop, attract new customers, and show off your product. You also have the opportunity to get social, start discussions and get involved in them, host competitions, and more.

Again, it might be worth hiring a social media marketing company if you’re unsure of how to do this alone or don’t have the time.

8. You’re Not Eco Friendly

Environmentally friendly businesses are all the rage at the moment, and they won’t be going anywhere. These types of business are only set to grow, as we all need to work on being kinder to the environment and making sure our resources last a long time.

If you’re not putting any focus at all on that, your footprint will likely be huge. This could put people off working with you. Is there a way you can switch to more eco-friendly packaging and materials? Could you work with suppliers that care more about the environment?

Find ways to become more environmentally friendly today if you can.

Is your business stuck in the past? It can be tempting to avoid change if you’ve had okay results so far, but your results could be so much better. Get out of the past and into the present day today.
