A Website Design Can Make Or Break A Company

It is very important to have a professional website in order to make itself known and promote its activity to your customers.

Creating a professional website is not easy. In general, it requires the intervention of a web agency. This allows the new business to obtain a good quality professional website.

Why should new businesses create their website?

The professional website replaces traditional business cards and commercial brochures. The first instinct of a potential customer who is interested in your business will be to search the internet and social networks.

If a user cannot find information about your business, it will inevitably create a trust problem. In addition, research is very likely to land this prospect on the website of one of your competitors.

Your professional website, provided it is well referenced on search engines, will be an excellent commercial tool for your business.

Then, when the website is efficient, it will allow you to create a first bond of trust with your future customers.

What information should be indicated on a professional website?

The main objective of your website is to provide as much information as possible to Internet users about your activity.

The richer and more precise the information, the more likely the Internet users who will contact you will turn into customers.

The observation of competing websites is rewarding. This makes it possible to identify the important elements to be provided on your website, and to observe their practices.

Basic information

First of all, the website should offer a complete description of all your activities . A surfer should immediately have a glimpse of what you are offering.

  • For a service provision activity (consultant, freelance, trainer, coach, etc.), it is important to highlight the list of proposed assignments, your professional background, your diplomas, your skills, your experiences within different companies.
  • For a trading activity, it is necessary to present the range of products offered by the company, in detail and highlighting its advantages.

An “about” page, which presents your team and your premises, is also appreciated. If you have a commercial sign, it must appear on the website so that the Internet user can make the connection more easily.

Then, you must describe on your website how the relationship with customers takes place: making contact, on-site visit, points of sale, making a quote, placing orders, after-sales service, etc.

Useful features

Your website should then include several useful features:

  • A plan that allows you to locate your premises as well as details of your geographical scope of intervention,
  • Information on opening hours and company contact details,
  • A contact form,
  • Where applicable, a blog-type section, to publish information and news,
  • A section on customer reviews and, for service providers, on the various missions already accomplished.

If you want to sell online, you have to plan an e-commerce site.  The design will then be much more complex.

Mandatory information

First of all, you need to write the legal notice for your professional website. This page is mandatory and must be accessible from all the other pages of your site.

Then, if you collect personal information from your website, you must comply with all the regulations applicable to the management of personal data (GDPR).

How to create a professional website?

To create the website for your new business, you will have to work with a web agency or go through a platform offering turnkey sites.

Without knowledge, creating a professional website yourself is very complicated. Your priority should be to get a professional website complete with a design that is appealing to Internet users.

For this reason, the work of creating the website is generally outsourced to a professional.

The creation of the website by a web agency

By asking a web agency to take care of the work, you will get a tailor-made website design, exactly as you imagine it.

The price to expect to create your professional website depends on many parameters. The specifications that you establish for the professional will allow him to establish an estimate.

If you adopt this solution, you must plan to do it a little in advance because the design of a website takes time. In addition, web agencies are rarely immediately available.

Turnkey website packs

An intermediate solution consists in using an online platform which offers you a turnkey package: domain name, hosting, website, etc.

These services are subject to a subscription to be paid monthly. This allows you to reduce your website budget but, in return, you will not get a tailor-made site, you will be constrained in its design. In addition, over time, the overall cost will become high.

This solution may be perfect for you if you need a very basic site or if you don’t have a budget at first.
