One thing all small companies have in common: the desire to save as much money as possible.
For larger firms, of course, this is just as necessary, but young startups are more vulnerable and have so many uncertainties, and are not typically in a position to splurge.
Luckily, there are a couple of tried and tested ways to save money at the beginning and give yourself a fair shot.
We have put together a few of the duties you might want to think about outsourcing, as well as the ones you might want to train people to do in-house.
You need to think about your strengths and weaknesses before you start thinking about outsourcing jobs to another.
It is important to note that your business will almost always be slightly different from everyone else, so your core competencies need to be defined.
If you are an IT organization, for example, then you possibly don’t need colocation.
However, if you do, make sure you shop around and get a quote.
You should think long and hard about the things you want to retain in-house, to establish a clear idea of where you want to go in terms of preparation and aspects that need to be improved.

Repetitive tasks
Some tasks are common to all companies, including payroll, accounting, data entry, and inventory management.
They are repetitive tasks performed week in, week out or monthly. While these are key tasks, they can certainly be outsourced to save you time and money, and to ensure that someone who can do it reliably is doing them.
The messing up of these jobs can, after all, have some serious implications for your company.
Tasks that require specialized knowledge
There are tasks out there that involve specific expertise and experience, and as a startup or a small company, it can sometimes be out of the budget to find someone to work in-house who can perform such tasks.
Outsourcing this role means you can find a freelancer or a contractor who is typically able to work on a short-term or ad-hoc basis, which means you are saving money on training and the benefits that a permanent employee might offer.
Tasks that could come under this category might include website design and search engine optimization (SEO).
Social media management
For many businesses, social media is an important part of marketing and advertisement, but it is one of the toughest-and time-consuming-things to get right.
More often than not it ends up being ignored and missing out on important exposure to a mass audience.
You need to consider issues like whether you want a specific tone of voice and how you are trying to communicate with your clients because that can impact whether you employ someone to handle your social media.
As your business grows, you may want to take back control of these tasks and handle them in-house but letting someone else do them for you makes sense when you start up.
