Keeping your business going during COVID-19 can be fairly challenging. There are lots of roadblocks and differences that you need to keep in mind.

Fail to pay attention to these changes and you could end up with an unproductive business with no staff to help you out. In order to keep your employees motivated during these trying times, it’s important to start focusing more on how you can adapt your business.

So in this post, we’re going to give you some tips on managing employees during COVID-19.

Listen to your employees when it comes to safety issues

Make sure you listen to your employees, especially if they start to voice concerns over how your business is running and how you’re operating with COVID-19 in mind.

For example, some employees might be a little frustrated at the lack of hand sanitiser, and others might be concerned about a lack of professional cleaning.

Keep employee concerns in mind and act on them

Let your employees voice their concerns and make sure you act on what they’re saying. You don’t need to follow every specific thing they say, but it helps if you’re able to at least tell them the reason why you won’t be able to make changes that they’ve requested.

Use remote working to your advantage

There are many remote working opportunities that your business can take advantage of. The most basic is letting your employees work from home, but you can combine this with online collaborative projects or working with freelancers.

Remote working is a great way to let your employees work in a comfortable environment while being safe from COVID-19.

Make your workplace more pleasant

If your workplace requires your employees to be at work, then you may want to consider making your workplace a little more pleasant.

This could include more friendly meetings to keep staff in the loop, it could mean more team-building strategies, and it can also involve creating a positive company culture.

Altering incentive programs to fit different circumstances

Incentive programs will likely need to be changed in order to fit the current circumstances with COVID-19 around.

You can click here for more information about incentive programs and how they’re adapting to a world where going out on trips and vacations with your team is almost impossible.

There are many other ways to incentivize your staff and motivate them if you take the right approach.

Be transparent about changes you plan to make

It’s also a good idea to be transparent about any changes that you make to the business during COVID-19. This will give your staff plenty of time to plan ahead of time and means they’re free to ask any questions regarding your proposed changes.

Give your employees a flexible schedule

Lastly, make sure your employees can work on a flexible schedule. They’ll no doubt have plenty of their own commitments to focus on and you’ll want to ensure that your workflow supports giving them more flexibility.
