How To Adapt Your Marketing Activities For 2021

Adapt Marketing 2021

While the world is changing all the time, it usually happens gradually and in a predictable way. When looking at your business, you can usually forecast for the next couple of years and while you might not always be exactly right, you have a good idea of what is going to happen and how you will grow your business.

That was the case until last year when the global pandemic happened out of nowhere and turned people’s personal lives and businesses upside down.

Now, life is unpredictable, no one knows what is going to happen this year and while the vaccines have given hope that life will go back to normal soon, who knows when ‘soon’ is and who knows what ‘normal’ is? Some things may have changed for good while others will go back to exactly how they were.

With that in mind it can be difficult to plan, however it is still important to have some sort of idea of what you’re going to do in terms of your business and particularly with your marketing.

So, how can you adapt your marketing activities in 2021 so that you still get the best results no matter what happens?

Get Organised

The only thing that’s certain now is uncertainty, so if you can get prepared then you can be ready for anything. Plan your finances with easy to use marketing budget templates and if you have time then plan for different eventualities.

Get some crisis plans in place, talk with your staff about what events could happen and the worst case scenarios and what you would do if they did happen.

Don’t Be Afraid To Try Something New

At the moment there’s nothing to lose, so rather than being stuck in the same old routine as you have done in the past, get out of your comfort zone.

You’ve had to adapt in many other ways lately and the pandemic has forced everyone out of their comfort zone, so it only makes sense to do the same with your marketing efforts.

Over the last year, businesses have had to think outside the box and had to start offering delivery services where they might have never done this before or move their business online which wasn’t in their plan.

New ideas are good and trying new things could work for you, so give it a try.

Communicate More

One of the most important things you can do by way of marketing this year is to keep in touch with your customers.

If your business isn’t open right now, don’t let people forget about you. Remind them that you are still there and let them know what you’re up to.

Perhaps you’re working on something new for when you can re-open or perhaps you’re offering new services which might be useful to your customers right now. Let people know via social media, newsletters and emails.

You could even send something out to your customers in the post as a nice surprise.
