It’s safe to say Andy Havens has forgotten more about copywriting than most people ever know. He attributes this to two factors:
A) Andy has a bad memory
B) most people don’t know much about copywriting
Keep that smile because the real message here is while copywriting is serious business, Andy tries not to take himself too seriously. Plus he recognizes that nobody knows everything there is to know. We try not to let ego get in the way of success here.
For the past 30 years Andy has been involved in some sort of marketing and writing. He started writing copy for radio in 1991. Keep in mind it was a very small station (only 5 people listening at any given time he likes to point out) and he was officially a “radio personality”, not a copywriter.
Over the years Andy gained experience in several fields including retail, real estate, banking, Internet marketing and computers to name a few. He’s developed a proven ability to explain even complex ideas in terms anyone can understand.
A few years ago, Andy stopped pursuing copywriting clients to free up time to spend with his family and sell his own products. As a chess player, Andy leans towards tactical skills. He takes the same approach to copywriting…
Break down any sales message into its component parts (called elements here) and then hone your skills until they cut like a razor. Because he believes any skill needs solid grounding in the basics, Andy provides a place to start with the simple sales letter page. Master this and then move on to advanced tactics. Convinced testing can transform even mediocre copywriters into superstars, Andy decided to start offering testing services. He noticed many people agree testing is the best way to improve copy but most hate doing it… or at best keep putting it off. SalesPageMakeovers.com offers testing at levels anyone can afford. Feel free to poke around.
If you’d like to offer some tips of your own, why not drop Andy a line? If you’d like to experience the power of testing without the drudgery, check out SalesPageMakeovers.com - you be glad you did.
By the way… from time to time Andy does take on new clients - time permitting. If you are determined to hire him, stop by Sales Page Makeovers, fill out the interest form and he will contact you.
